In the GCC, it is rare to find companies who focus on social awareness right at the launch of their business. CSR usually comes later down the line, once the business has achieved good top line growth. Many think social entrepreneurship can only be a non-profit venture as a result, they shy away from such business ideas. Which is why, once we learned about the concept of ILOVEMYPOCKET, it was a breath of fresh air.
Ilovemypocket is a new t-shirt brand which focuses on unique pockets. Each design has a story and a country behind it. Founder Pedro Codina aims to use traditional material from various countries in order to produce his various pocket designs. Combining fashion with giving back (as we have seen Toms do in the past), Pedro aims to donate 10% of his profits to specific charities.
